Is this Right Condenser for Wico X Magneto??

I picked up a condenser for the wico X magneto (spec XH1042), and when I removed the condenser that was in the magneto and compared it to the new one, the new one is much larger. Here are pictures of magneto and condenser with box and part Number that it came in.

The magneto calls for a cap with .16 to .20 microfarads of capacitance. Anything in the range that fits is fine.
I cannot keep track of all the aftermarket part #s. NAPA is ECH W1200. OEM was X5614 or X6916 or 2-5007

RTR, the most common part number I find for the Wico XH Mag is #5007, which I've also seen listed under part number FXH 2024

HOWEVER when people replace the old original Wico coils many use the later so called "hot coil" (similar to the higher rated Wico XHD "Heavy Duty" Magneto coils) in which case it was suggested they use the slightly physically bigger and slightly more capacitance XH 6916 condenser, SO MAYBE THATS WHAT YOU HAVE ??

FWIW when I asked my late friend, physicist, and John Deere expert Duane Larson a question near the same as yours regarding the condenser for use in an XH Mag, here was his written response:

"When Wico introduced the XHD with the HD coil they went to the X6916 condenser, which ranges from .30-.34 mfd. Best as I can tell, most of the coils available now have inductance closer to the HD coils than the original 5700 series coils, so the X6916 condenser is probably a better match. I have settled on them as I have seen less metal transfer between the points (which is probably the best way to judge proper capacitance). "

My opinion as an electrical engineer is that proper condensor rating is somewhat more important in a Magneto then in a battery powered ignition (sure still important in EITHER) and, therefore, if you have a standard original Wico XH mag with the original coil you should use a condenser rated near the #5007, BUT if you have an XHD or so called "hot coil" in your Wico XH mag as Duane suggested the slightly bigger and slightly higher rated XH 6916 condenser may work best. The "hot" or XHD coil has slightly higher inductance then the original XH coil and they in turn used a higher rated capacitance condenser.

OOPS MY BAD when I copied and pasted Duanes response in my post below I accidentally cut off the first part of his answer grrrrrrrrrrrr forgive me, here is his answer:

The X5614 condenser used for the first several years (probably through production on the JD applications) was also between .16 and .20. Some aftermarket kits come with condensers in this range, although they are sometimes up to .24 mfd. When Wico introduced the XHD with the HD coil they went to the X6916 condenser, which ranges from .30-.34 mfd. Best as I can tell, most of the coils available now have inductance closer to the HD coils than the original 5700 series coils, so the X6916 condenser is probably a better match. I have settled on them as I have seen less metal transfer between the points (which is probably the best way to judge proper capacitance)."

REGARDLESS if you have the old original coil I recommend the ORIGINAL lower rated 5007 condenser, but if you have a later coil closer in inductance to the XHD or so called "hot coil" Id go with the higher rated XH 6916 condenser.

My apologies
