stuck barrel in remote

Still need help on this one. Hopefully a picture comes through to clarify things. As you can see, the barrel on the left is recessed (stuck) back in there about 3/8 inch or so, with the balls rigid to the inside, not allowing it to accept the hose end. The barrel on the right is in the proper position and the springy balls will accept the groove on a hose put in it. There's no way I can see to grab on to the left-hand barrel to pull it out - if in fact this is what I should be doing. I've seen a plug-looking protrusion coming out the back of the valve casing, but I don't know if this has anything to do with it. Any suggestions and/or schematics that would help me get this corrected? Thanks in advance.

Stick a ball pien hammer behind the barrel and against the rear of the tractor and push down might have to kind of tap on it a little pb blaster or other penetrant and work it back and forth a few times

A large C-clamp with a piece of flat stock over the front hose recess would put good pressure on it without pounding.

This is so common and simple,,use a hitch pin or a rock like every one else does...Darn it...

The plug like protrusion you mention is the key. Use something to pry it so it goes back in in to the casting.

Can you stick some needle - nosed pliers in there and open them with pressure and rotate the sleeve. Seems like that thing is just gummed/rusted up. HTH

You guys can make life easier for someone who's not real familiar with this stuff. Yeah, the 'protrusion' got the WD-40/C-clamp treatment and I'm good to go. Thank you all for solid, straightforward advice.

My brother-in-law used to put the gas nozzle in there and wash the dirt out . Get behind it and with a ball-peen hammer pound it out then wash it .
