recently converted an early 4020 to 12 volts. fuel gauge never worked before, but have time now and would like to get it working.
do I need a new 12 volt gauge and 12 volt sending unit?
how do I wire it properly??

thanks for any help!

Original gauge and sender WERE 12 Volt, but gauge was designed for (+) ground and doen't read as accurately on (-) ground.

I don't have the part number at hand, I'm sure someone else will post it, or an archive search would probably turn it up.

Yes you will need a RE53664 Gauge and a AR26434 Sender....the sender is the same on both voltages..

Is that correct? PC 1116 shows #RE53664 @ $161.92 as the gauge for LP gas models.

Shows #AR45436 (replaced by #AT375294 @ $95.01) as the gauge for 12 Volt (-) ground gasoline and diesel models.

Sender for use with #AT375294 gauge is #AR46268.

Sender #AR26434 is shown for 4010 up thru 12 Volt (+) ground and 24 Volt 4020's, up 'til 12 Volt (-) ground models.

Now I've REALLY confused things, I suppose!

talked to JD parts, in their notes on the fuel gauge, it states for 12v conversions to use the RE53664 gauge.

now, is it safe to assume that it would work with the original sender if it was in working condition? ar26434??

does anyone know why both wouldn't sub to the new serial number 12 volt parts like Bob has shown??

Yes the sender should be that,,and that is the correct gauge number for sure..for a long time Deere was giving us the wrong gauge and they would be ruined when the powered up...

Try Evergreen Restoration new gauge negative ground and fits in the dash correct and new sender for $150 for both. There number is 715-520-7876
