Another what's it worth

I have a friend that wants to sell a running pony motor off an R. I only found one ad to reference to on this site, not running, for $500. I'm guessing a good running one would be worth more than that. Fire away with opinions!

Don't know about an R pony,but I just bought a running pony motor for a 720 for 350.00 at a tractor salvage yard.I was surprised at the price and he did some research before he quoted me that price.

Surely a "good running" would be worth at least $1000. Guy at the repair shop told me about a year ago that they had done an overhaul on a R pony and had put $4000 in it but that probably included the transmission, clutch, etc.
