Thanks for the comments regarding the RH Step Kit and Tool Box Location I built for the MFWD 4055.

ss55 you asked about cost.

Yes, it could be cost reduced as experience is gained. This was specific for the MFWD 4055 to make a location for the tool box. On a 2WD I would locate the tool box to the LH side of the tractor. The pictures in this post show what I did on my 2WD 4250 last spring. I plan to add a K&M Hand Rail to the 2WD 4250 RH step. I do like the JD LH Design and much prefer the RH Step I put on the MFWD 4055, see my earlier post pictures.

$112 Flame cut and steel.
$37 + $12 K&M Right Hand Rail and Shipping.
$45 2 JD Steps.
$15 Cans of spray paint.
Weld, bolts, other misc.
What ever you think your time is worth.

I put a John Deere LH Step kit on the 4055 at $314, cheaper when they have their spring accessory sale.

Thanks for the info. Paul!

The OEM step kit(RE62856) for our Hinson cabbed 4020 was a bust - It wouldn't fit. The main mounting bracket for the step system attaches to the tractor in the same area that the Hinson cab mount is located.

I questioned the interference of the cab mount with the step system when I originally ordered the parts yet the dealer maintained the kit would fit my S/N of tractor?

Regardless, I've decided to purchase the John Deere round faced steps(R151799) individually & will build the rest the step system myself when I get "aroundtoit".....LOL
