4020 hydraulic cooler

I have a late 4020 with side console levers and the hydraulic cooler is leaking ordered a new one from John Deere but it is about 2 1/2 inches shorter than the old one is and the lower hose is at a different angle. My question is there a conversion kit to make this work or did I order the wrong one. It is a syncro range tranny.

Looks like there's as many as 3 oil cooler options for the side-console series synchro ranges..

What's your serial number, and what is the part # of the cooler you have?

FWIW, here's what the parts catalog shows.

AR44284... Used with (SYNCRO-RANGE) (TRACTOR SERIAL NO. 217839-250000)

AR44283... Used with (SYNCRO-RANGE) (TRACTOR SERIAL NO. 250001- )

Bob has it right you need your serial number to get the correct one. If your parts guy did not have many gray hairs he will automatically go to the latest serial number when you tell him "late JD 4020 side console". Usually he would be right but IF yours is a 1970 or early 1971 there are lots of parts different than the late 1971s and 1972s.

Also the part maybe made wrong. I am getting that a lot in the 20 and 30 series parts.
