2755 SGB steering wheel removal???

Remove cap (1), nut (3), washer (39) X 2, knob (5), and then nut (6)!

I see the cap in the picture, but when I look at the cap on my tractor there does not seem to be any separation between the clear part that has the deer in it and the rest of the "horn knob" part. I dug around the edge of the deer part with my knife, but it does not seem that it will come out without destroying the deer part. I ordered a replacement part from Deere and they sent me AL155227, but it does not look like my part.

I think you are digging around too "high". IIRC, there's some black plastic that comes out with the clear "DEERE" emblem.

AL36533 is shown as the "cover", #1, in the illustration, but subs to AL155227.

You DO have the SGB tilt column as shown in the drawing, correct?

Yes, I am pretty sure that I have the tilt column shown. It has a lever near your knee that allows the column to tilt. I am trying to get the steereing wheel off so that I can replace the black plastic strip that slides up and down through the dash.

I will second your trying to take the TOP off, not the entire cap. The separation line is down about 3/8-1/2 inch below the top of the cap. It is just held in with an oring around the cap.

Thanks guys. I found the separation line. I thought that JD had sent me the wrong part. I did notice tgat the deer looks different. I wonder why they changed it?

Once the cap is off telescope the steering wheel just enough that the lock shaft will drop down so the puller doesn't push on it .
