JD 1020 hydraulic oil fill

Hi:
I've just acquired a JD1020. Cute little thing!
I have to get the manuals yet, but I need to know about the hydraulic oil. I see the cap in the back, under the seat, to check the oil and fill it. How high should the oil be? There isn't a dipstick.

Also, I've seen that there is, on some models, a forward facing PTO under the axle housing. In mine, I see a place for one, sort of (covered in mud at the moment). Should there be one, or is it an option I don't have?

Hyd oil dipstick is on RH side of trans case by right heel when operator is sitting in seat. Check oil level with engine idling,trans in neutral with dipstick nut resting on threads.

Mid pto was an option so your tractor could have or could not have mid pto.
