14.9-46 on 4440

20.8 X 38 tires are most common for 4440'w around here but I have seen 14.9 X 46 tires on 4440's. After 20.8 X 38's the next most common would be 18.4 X 38 or 18.4 X 42 rear tires on the 4440's.

I saw a JD 7510 with 14.9 x 46 tires at an auction a few days ago here in ohio. They really look small on that tractor.

A lot of those tires in sugar beet country, since they plant in 22 inch rows. Most have a 22 inch corn planter as well, so they don"t need to switch tires. My renter does only corn/beans, but runs 22 inch rows. Canopies sooner. Some guys run 14.9 triples with the higher hp tractors. google Keltgen "tsll tires".

I have no personal experience with them on a 4440, but here locally there were quite a few with them on for spraying and running beet toppers. They must not be that bad on one.
