Can someone recommend a good calibrated oil gage for testing oil pressure on my JD 60. The pressure starts out high and as the engine warms up, it drops to about 4 to 5 psi on the new dash gage I bought. I changed the oil to 15-40 Rotella, and I adjusted the oil pressure screw but nothing seems to help. I want to get a good calibrated gage so I know for sure what kind of pressure I am looking at.
I know that low pressure is a sign of bad main bearings, but is there anything else that would cause it that is easy to look for or test? Would putting a straight 40 or 50 wt oil help raise the pressure to an acceptable range?
