Changing Bulb on Oil Pressure Indicator Light on Older 3020

I need to replace the bulb on the oil pressure indicator light on my 3020. I can see that the lens is designed on top of a round metal tube with a horizontal slot in the bottom of the tube. It appears to me that the way to remove the lens (to make the bulb accessible) is to push down on the lens and then turn. Have had no luck after several attempts. Any suggestions on how to remove the lens?

If you still have the original light socket in there it probably is rusted into a one piece unit. It will need to be replaced. You should be able to push the lens and socket together slightly and turn the lower part to separate it.

Thanks for all of your suggestions. Sounds like I need to look at the back side of the dash. Should be able to loosen lens bracket from the bottom.
