Source for A4666R rubber washers (besides JD?)

I need to replace the deteriorated rubber washers (A4666R) on the hood bolts for my 70D. Deere still lists them as available, but on general principle I really don't want to pay $4.49 each. There's at least seven required, too.

The aftermarket doesn't seem to have this particular size. Has anyone identified a substitute from plumbing or automotive use? They're 1" OD, 0.594" ID (basically 9/16"), and 1/4" thick.

Meanwhile, looking through McMaster's site I found: https://www.mcmaster.com/#3733k16

These are neoprene, 1-1/8" OD, 5/8" ID (0.625") and the correct thickness. $10.38 plus postage for a lifetime supply of two dozen. Just a hair large but I think they'd work since they don't actually seal anything, just provide a cushion.

Any other thoughts?

I think it is pretty cool JD still has them available at such a reasonable price. Don't think of it as $4.49 for a piece of rubber, think of it as Deere does you the service to make parts available for a 60 year old tractor and keep it original.

On the other hand you could cut some out of old baler belt with a hole saw and chisel.

Take a hole saw and cut them out of some belting like Paul said. You can finish the center hole with a good quality gasket punch but it has to be a good one. While you are at it make a few extras to hang on a nail somewhere. They come in handy.
 
Ford Motor Company used a grommet washer on valves covers & side covers on many 6 cly engines. 1" diameter, 1/2 thick with a 5/16 hole. They had a metal
washer impregnated to the rubber. I always thought they were a perfect fix. These parts are N/R though Ford Now but there are many still on the shelf
at different stores, I think the Part number for them was B9A-6570-A.. You might find them cheap since they are N/R..
