Head gasket model r

Recently had to pull the head off my model r doe to a valve seat popping out. The head is now out at the machine shop and gaskets have been ordered
What I am asking is whether there should be any coating on the head gasket. And whether there is ant thing that I should pay special attention to when putting it back together

Had good luck with spray on Copper Coat. Coat all sides-head, block, gasket with a heavy coat.

If you asked a 1000 Mechanics the question you have you would probably receive 1000 different answers:

I ran a JD R for several years, several JD D's, MF Perkins, and here is a picture of a JD 70 Diesel Head. I always apply Loctite # 515 with a NON metallic applicator eg , to both sides od the head gaskets, re-torque head after engine coolant is up to operating temp.

One further thing , the parts manual shows thar I have 3/4 inch head studs and from what I can find the torque is about 200 ft. Lbs.. that seems quite high for a 3/4 inch stud
Any insight is much appreciated
