Well we had an equipment auction here in the North Platte area and on the block was a 1937 unstyled "A". The tractor brought $1,000 and the new owner was able to move it out almost before the auction ended. This tractor was a manual hand start with what appeared to be a very good paint job from a few years back. The tractor started easily and sounded solid and ran very smooth. The biggest point here is that all four tires were virtually brand new with no wear. The casting nipples were still intact!
The $1000 was hard to come by and I was tempted to offer $1,050 and probably would have got it. Very few bids were presented.

All I can do is cry in my beer and wonder just how much I passed up. I will try to post a couple pictures of it here.

The "M" next to it went for $2300!

Nice tractor and price, mine looks no where near that good but runs well. Wish I could find a good pair of cut off wheels so I could put rubber on mine. NE Nebraska

Sum ting Wong going on here. The serial # is 488000+, but it doesn't have the cast implement mounting ring at the top of the pedestal, which
means the pedestal came from an A below 460000. Also, the hood doesn't seem to have the shutter rod clip. Again, pre 460000. I think It has
shutters, not curtains, but is missing the control handle and shutter rod. I think I can count 12 splines on the axle instead of the 10 pre 460000.
Because of all this, I would call it an incomplete merger of two tractors, one above 460000 and one below. What say you others?

Look closer. It is 438xxx, and those are 10 spline axles and wheels. Note the hubs. I looked at the number twice, too, but compare the digit in question to the 3 further back. Not a frankenstein tractor, just a nice 1936.

If you really want a '37 A, I looked at one just this weekend here in southern Minnesota. Serial no. 448209

The lady who has it said it was bought new by her grandfather (who is still living), then passed down to her parents (who are both deceased) and now to her.

Supposedly it last ran a couple years ago. The flywheel and other parts from a later A were added to make it electric start, but the last time they went to start it the ring gear broke. The original flywheel is still with it so it could be changed back. The motor is not stuck. The clutch works and all the levers shift like they should.

The rear wheels are 36” factory flat spokes—not cut-offs. The tires are fair. The lady's boyfriend said at least one has a slow leak in it. The front tires looked good, but one of them might leak too.

At one time it apparently had a Behlen over drive on it and also hydraulics. These have been removed, but at least some of that stuff is still there and goes with it (not sure about the Behlen, but the hydraulic reservoir tank is there).

She showed me repair slips from 2008 for over $3000.00 worth of work her mother had had done to it. This included removal of the Behlen and the hydraulics, plus other work on the transmission, cooling fan, governor, new exhaust pipe and radiator hoses, plus some other stuff.

A couple minor dings in the hood, but nothing serious. They said it’s always been kept inside. Right now it’s in a heated garage.

I already have too many projects or I would have given this some serious thought. Not sure exactly how much she wants for it. We didn't get into it that far, because I knew I wasn't going to buy it. I only went and looked at it as a courtesy to her. But if you are interested, let me know and I will get you her contact info.

That appears to be a "Yakima" hitch. Nice tractor. But, you snooze = you lose. Have done the same thing more than once.
