John Deere 80 value

Looking into a JD 80..tires ok,runs good and sheetmetal is excellent..is 6000 a fair price?..thanks

Wouldn't a black dash 820 or an 830 be a lot better and have more lasting value? I would love to have an electric start 830 which has all the improvements and was the pinnacle of the two-cylinder era.

The 80 production numbers were low compared to the other three main bearing tractors in it’s class.

I think so. Heck my neighbor sold an R for $5,000. Considering the 80 is a lot more desirable because they were only made for one year and much better tractor then the R, $6,000 sounds really reasonable. The 80 through 830 were basically the same tractor with minor differences between all three. The R was much different from the other three.

It has been many years since I have seen an 80 that ran that sold that cheap. Does the pony easily start it? How long since it ran? Not a common tractor, back in the day only one in our county.
