What is the plug on the back of the belt pulley on a 40T for? I purchased the unit and it says remove plug before installing. Also what grade of oil is used in the unit. Any tricks to install?

That is the drain plug.

Take a look at the illustration below.

The operator's manual recommends SAE 90.

Hope this helps.

It is different than the pulley in your photo. It is pictured upside down to show the message on the pulley (Remove before installation). The plug it is pointing would be the one on the back of your pulley
