i know that you want to be fair but 8000 plus dollars is fairly high even if in good condition. The only way I would go 8000 plus is if i wanted to help the friend's family out from a financial standpoint. Yes, the rear tires look good and the tractor looks straight but I would be more confortable at 6500-6750 dollars. All this is predicated on the tractor not anticipating any repairs needed soon. If it were not a friend's tractor and it were at auction probably 6000-6500 would be better.

It looks like the brackets for maybe a 46 loader. If we were talking an 148 loader that would bring it up another 1200 or so. 46 and 48 loaders are around 500=700 dollars here. The last 3020 diesel with forward console that looked maybe a smidge better that I saw at auction went for 6200.

I have one and there is a some price variability around the country. The same tractor might go for $7500 in New York and $9000 in Iowa. Anyway, like most folks that post and ask for a value, there is not enough to go on, although the picture is huge help and rubber is great. Is it pre- or post 1969 (past or before SN 123,000). I see the right battery box is missing. Is it converted to 12V? Powershift or Synchro Range ? Any weights come with- doesn?t look like it. 5,7XX hours, has it been overhauled recently? One remote or two? Others will post more good questions I?m sure. Loader model and condition is important. If this is a good solid 3020D with a decent loader, it would not be for sale long at $8K to $8.5K around here.

Early 3020's are not widely sought after around these parts. The largest number of buyers by volume who are the Mennonites have newer tractors than the 20 series. They like everybody else will get geeked up over a late 4020 or 2520. Interesting to know that 3020's are in higher demand elsewhere.

It is quite visible that it is a pre 1969 model, just from the right side.
- Long PTO lever on right
- Lack of side console
- Generator instead of alternator
- 99.9% sure the front couplers were an option only on pre 1969 models. I cannot see how they could have tee them on the rear monted SCVs.
- Oil diptick threaded in and with aluminum cap
- Round muffler

Also the fact it has a generator would indicate it's a pre '69

I'm thinking 8. Had a friend who had one for sale from an estate. His was similar condition, ran nice, dual hydraulics, diesel power shift. Anyway, he wanted to sell it, and kind of wanted me to buy it. I wasn't real interested, and told him I would only pay 7 to 8. He wanted 9, and it took him a year to move it.

It looks like a nice tractor. The front hydraulic couplers (also used for a front rockshaft to lift a cultivator) are fairly scarce.

For a cultivator lift, you need the special engine shields that are stamped at the bottom. Those are rare. I have seen quite a few 3020s with the front couplers.

I missed on a 3020 powershift 1966, with 46A loader, with the hood damaged, and the water pump with 1 inch of play at the end of the impeller. Would still start easily.
It all depends of the location: This was in 2001 in France in a horses farm run by a doctor that only saw in the 3020 a pile of old not-shinny junk (everything he owned was brand new and worth a lot of money) , so he offered it to me for 450 dollars. So he went to another collector...

The engine alone, especially the block, is worth prob. 3,000. If it has a nice 148 loader, those go for over 3,000 in Indiana. But it is not going to be a 10,000 tractor because of the year. So I would say you are very close.

Those wheels show up once in a while on a 3020 and more often on 2510-20 tractors. I think they were a cheaper wheel option than the heavy cast centers. I used to see alot of them on southern tractors as well as AZ,CO and CA tractors. The front bracket is definetly 46 or 46a loader. The tractor has a generater so it is still 24 volt. He should get what he wants if loader is good but it might be a little slow to sell right now. Tom
