2240 question

Thanks for the replies below on the 2240 I'm looking at. What is the pedal / lever on the left side by the PTO lever for? Owner lives in town and inherited the tractor from his step father and doesn't know much about it.

Sounds like the differential lock to me. DO NOT push down on it while one wheel is free spinning or else breakage can occur. The pedal/lever shaft can rust in the casting and cause it to stick too. If it does not move easily spray some PB blaster on it and let it soak in.

If it has a lever sticking up right beside the differential lock pedal that is there so you can turn the pto off completely
