A2582 pistons

Came across some A2582 pistons for my mid A what are they? Picture shows them to be flat with tapered around the outside. Are they gasoline pistons. My all fuel are dished out in the middle and how much more power will they give. I want a set of .45 over m&w's but no luck thanks

A3531R would be the JD part no. of .045 oversize pistons for your mid A. Oversize JD pistons have the part number ground off the inside of the piston skirt on all the ones I have. Part no. stamped on head of piston.

How much more compression does the gas pistons have compared to the all fuel ones. I am needing a few more horsepower. I want a set of m&ws but I can't find any thanks

My 42 all fuel A made 26 hp on the Dyno. My 45 A with gas .045 A3531R over made 33 with hiesler manifold. Stock carb and head both with a mag. 42 A with gas .045 A3531R pistons but head decked .060 and block decked .060 hiesler manifold and 60 cam made 42 all on non oxy regular gas. The M&W pistons were 6.75 to 1, all fuel 4.5 to 1, I do not remember the compression ratio for JD gas pistons. Was thinking they were in the range of 6.5 to 1.

MY A made about 32 on the dyno it has some head work done, decked ,51 carb, gas manifold. I was hoping for a few more hp. If them gas pistons are 6.5 to 1 compared to 6.75 m&w for the money I will go with the gas pistons. They should help it some. I didn't realize they (gas pistons) had that much more. In our little club I usually do pretty good pulling. But now I need some more. Thanks for the info
