4760 PS engagement over ride?

Does a 4760 power-shift have an engagement over ride valve in the shift valve?

A neighbor's tractor stopped moving on him...as in he stopped and filled his drill and now the tractor doesn't move.

Seems like in the past I had seen 50 series power-shift tractors with stuck over-ride valves(keep a farmer from running over himself)...anyhow..it's been so long since I've jacked with a 50/60 series power-shift I don't recall where the engagement over-ride valve is!!!

I had him hold the clutch down and start it..check the trans-disconnect..fluid level...etc....I'm going to have to go stick gages on it I guess

Yes..starts and runs...hydraulics work.

If I remember right...there was/is a small valve spool in the shift valve that wouldn't allow the transmission to engage unless the clutch/inching pedal was pushed....

Of course I've seen shift cables come loose too it might be in neutral and not shifting...trans-pump maybe shucked...input shaft to clutch pack sheared off...all sorts of things could be wrong with a powershift

I'll go look at it after a bit...

There is a disconnect lever under the cab on the left rear that can be shifted into a neutral position,,, but I can't imagine it jiggling out of place,, most of the time they are rusted stuck,,but you should check it. Also if it is a 2 wheel drive maybe the diff went bad,,hit the diff lock and see if it will move.

I doubt it's the tow disconnect...I need to go look at the ops and tests and see where the engagement over-ride valve is....all I remember is it sticks straight in the shift valve and isn't very big. Valve sticks and tractor won't move

Yeh the engagement over-ride works off the forward/reverse/neutral on a powershift...I looked it up in the ops and tests....

Unfortunately this tractor is a quad-range...and does NOT have hydraulics and steering(they said it did)....seems the transmission pump drive shaft has spindled-up and twisted off. I could pull the shaft out part way...but once the end hit the two-speed/quad-pack bushing that was it! I guess the tractor is going to have to be split and take the hex shaft out the front...

Before you split it I would pull the trans pump, most of the time the get buggered up right in front of the pump, once the pump is out the shaft may come out,,,
