does anyone still make a engine overhaul kit for a john deere 4010 lp? john deere does not. I have been told a over haul kit for a gas 4010 will work. I would think the valves would be different, but do not know for sure. what about the pistons would gas pistons work?

I would think pistons for gasoline wouldn't be high enough compression ratio for LPG. LPG utilizes flat top pistons.

Parts book shows valves are the same for gas or lp.

Technically speaking gas pistons would work, it’ll run, but it won’t make the same hp and torque it normally would with the higher compression ratio pistons.

I think you need the particular engine block number and then you buy individual parts(as in no overhaul kit)...at least that's the way it was for the last 4020 LP I overhauled.
