Syncro 3020 PTO drags badly at RPM's above 1000, tries to turn feed grinder while in transport w/customer complaining of burnt smell. Split and dissembled clutch assy, replaced, discs (fiber), reset fingers and no change clutch still acting up. What do I look for in split #2?
 
What year 3020? Dash or side console? They have different PTO clutch apply methods.

Possiblilty 1:
Trans input shaft and PTO input shaft bushing dragging, check if it does it in gear with clutch depressed so trans input isn’t turning.

Possiblility 2:
Dash console tractor, pto clutch linkage adjusted incorrectly applying the clutch slightly.

Possiblility 3:
Side console tractor, pto clutch is hydraulically applied and the valve is not adjusted properly or there is an internal leak allowing pressure to build on the apply piston.

That’s all I can think of.
 
Dash mount controls. Was in neighborhood and tried your #1 suggestion this pm, thanks but no cigar. lol Since the asbestos has been banned could cl disc linings be expanding from heat?
 
Before you split it again take the inspection plate off and have a look see, neither throw out bearing should be touching fingers, I suspect the pto one is touching, maybe the rod under the dash is too short or something got in there and the handle isn’t coming back all the way.
