I recently bought a 1020 LU tractor that was offered by our local school district that bought it brand new from the dealer in my hometown. (Sadly, the dealership is no longer there.) I even have an old yearbook that shows the two school custodians in front of this brand new tractor. The tractor is a very low option tractor as it has manual steering, transmission driven PTO and about the only options it has are a deluxe seat and a Cat. 1 3-point hitch. The tractor doesn't even have a drawbar. I know the production records for these Dubuque tractors have not been deciphered and probably never will be. I talked to Brenda at the Two-Cylinder Club and after she reminded me of the production number problem she said, in regard to production numbers, "we have had very few serial number requests for these so there can't be very many". What are your thoughts in regard to this unusual, if not necessarily rare tractor? Mike

Sounds like a very interesting tractor especially with all the known history. In all my years of buying and selling I have never came across a 1020 or 2020LU. I have owned dozens of RU and HU tractors. What are your plans for it, use it or resell it? If I owned it with plans to keep I would more than likely add power steering to it to make it more useful. Tom
