What does it take to convert a '93 2555 with a hi-lo to an all gear drive? Whats the difference in parts? Is the case different? I havent checked out my pressures yet, just wondering. I may take it to the dealer and say FIXIT. I was trying to contact Silver tractors about an eliminator but cant make phone contact.

I have never done one. It is not like an Oliver or MF where you can delete it easily. I know you will need a different shifter housing as the Hi-LO valve in in there so you would need one without the Hi-Lo to block the hydraulic oil flow. I also think the front of the transmission housing is different. I know the input shaft would be different.

Without knowing the hours or general condition of the JD 2555 it is hard to tell you what to do. In general the Hi-Lo can be fixed reasonable IF you did not run it too long slipping OR tried to pull start the tractor. Usually your just looking at orings and plated in one if it has not been ran long while slipping.

I would repair what you have. Contrary to some opinions, they are not that bad. I can do it a lot cheaper than a dealer but transport would be an issue......

I havent checked the pressures on it yet but everything looked good when I did the oil service. I also cut the filter open to check for any metal, looked good. It has about 6000 hours on it. Im in central Florida. I havent used it yet, dont want to mess anything up. I have the itch to drive it. Thanks for the reply.
