1950 JD model A Engine Oil

What would be the most appropriate motor oil to use for a 1950 JD A? Does it need to be a non-detergent oil?

I use the O'Reilly's brand 20W50 oil in all my tractor but the oldest one and in it I run a 60W oil but it is a 1935 and if it has even had the head off it would have been done by my grand father back in the 40s or 50s so it smokes bit it is a 1935 JD-B

I run Rotella 20 50 in my 48 A all year.

Most folks run a high detergent Diesel rated oil like a Rotella or Delvac.

I run 10w30 in all my gas tractors. A lot of old tractors called for straight 30w or 20w in the summer and 10w in the winter.

I'm running 10w30 diesel rated oil in the late B.

Running 15w40 diesel rated in the 620 because it's a looser engine.
