2510 loader brackets

The post down below about 3020 loader mounts got me thinking. My
loader tractor is a 4010 with 48 loader. Sometimes it would be
handy to have the loader on the 2510. How hard would it be to
find a second set of mounts? Nothing is available from JD anymore.
I haven't called any salvage yards yet just thinking about it
right now. Might be nice in the winter because the 2510 is a gas
and is the only tractor I run then. I don't want to keep it on
either tractor permanently so the flexibility of being able to
switch between the two seems appealing. Since buying a skid steer
I haven't used the loader much but for moving hay.

Other people on this site may know how to check if there an online parts manual for that loader available from Deere.

Check if your existing mounting brackets for the 4010 can be used on your 2510, or if new holes can be drilled to make them work on both tractors. The center front bracket should work for both tractors, the side brackets might also work. The doubler plates behind the side rails will likely need be different and if the loader has independent hydraulic valves a different length valve bracket may also be needed between the two different length tractors.

Worst case you can use the 4010 brackets as a pattern to have new brackets made to fit the 2510.

There must a whack of tractors out there with unused loader brackets attached and unused. Given the amount of loaders laying around for sale without the brackets.

They do exist as I have some extras but they are getting harder to find. Take your side brackets to a good welding shop and have a set made then you will only need to switch the front bracket when changing loaders.I just bought a 48 with no brackets and my welding shop is making a new front bracket as I already have extra side ones. The front one is going to be a little hard to make as the original was a cast bracket. He says he can do it. Tom

JD 48 FEL mounting brackets for 2510 & 4010 are identical. Side brackets should be easy enough to reproduce but frt bracket a little more difficult.

Good welding shops are about as hard to find around here as a good mechanic. They're all gone or retired now. Welding is one of big things I wish I was better at. Just don't trust myself with that type of a project.

I was pretty sure they were the same but
thanks for the confirmation. I figure
they're made of that rare alloy called
unobtainium.

If your existing brackets will work on both tractors, try using the loader on the 2510 for a while before deciding to have a second set of mounts made ($500+ ?). I suspect you will really like the loader on the gas tractor in the winter, but if you don't like it you don't have any money invested in the experiment. A 48 loader on a 2020 tractor was a great combo, it should be similar on a 2510.
