Here's a "what's it worth". 54 Model 40. New rear tires, new battery, original owner died in 2005, last run in 2012. Daughter of original purchaser sold it to me. Less than 2 hours later, I drove it home 12 miles. She says, "factory duals" but they look like an identical set of wheels to me. Rear weights. Stored in her attached heated garage and wanted to move it due to space. Oil is very clean after running, fuel system was clean. Ignition system required filing of the points and reset. Started with the hand crank on the second turn. She says low hours on the engine as it was only used to run a pto driven elevator for hay. I have no reason not to believe that! It runs fabulous! So what is a reasonable value for Indiana?

Nice looking 40 you got there Dave, I can?t give you a reasonable value for Indiana but wanted to chime in anyway. Obviously someone that likes old tractors and appreciates old iron is going to consider it more valuable than someone looking for an everyday working tractor as I?m sure your aware of. Here in Alabama where I?m at in the condition you mentioned it could bring anywhere from $1500-2000, the old tractor market is on the decline in my area, younger folks not interested at all in them, my first tractor was just like yours, same year too, wish I had hung on to it, sold it in 1991 for $250 in running condition but needed rear tires replaced on it....

While used the tractor has been taken care of and not abused. The grill has only minor damage, lights are on it and it is very unusual to find a 6V Dubuqe with both battery covers. Reproduction fenders and a pto shield are simple enough to find. Nice little machine.

(quoted from post at 19:05:07 10/06/17) You did real good, I wouldn?t have thought twice
about it for that, you ought to keep it.....
That tractor will lokk real nice all cleaned up and maybe with a new paint job. my neighbor had one just like it.
