Front wheel removal 1968 JD 2020

I know this is really basic but I'm in a time crunch that a quick answer will help. I have the manuals but can't find the information in them

I have to pull the front wheel off my 68 JD 2020 to get the tube and tire replaced. I got it jacked up and removed the large and small bolts in the rim. I can't get the rim loose as sometimes happen with corrosion and time. Before I go to the hammer or bar and beat it loose I want to be certain that it isn't one of those Wheels where you have to pull the cotter pin, nut and bearings to remove it.

Remove the six lug bolts and thats it. sometimes it will stick on the hub and a little persuasion is needed.

I am not sure what your talking about large and small bolts. You have the six wheel bolt and that is it. Like jacksun65 posted you may have a stuck rim.

Trick to do it if the rim is really stuck. Remove the wheel bearing dust cap and nut. Pull the entire rim and hub off. Lay the tire down flat then take punch and knock the hub out of the rim. You will find that they come right out with the tire/rim laying solid on the ground.

Remove all but two lug nuts 180* across from each other. Loosen the last two, tighten to finger tight and back off 1 1/2 turns. Drive the tractor back and forth a foot or so, you should be able to hear, feel, or see it pop loose. Before reinstalling thoroughly wire brush the hub and apply a thin coat of never seize to the contact areas. We do this with alloy rims when they oxidize to steel rotors/drums.

I'm thinking "Tanerite"......maybe a half charge....depending on how good the hydraulics are working...all in fun, but at times you need to hit them with an 8lb. Sledge to break the rust loose.

Both front wheels have 3/4" bolts except for two opposing bolts on each wheel that are a larger size. I mentioned them in case there was some significance to it but it appears there isn't.

Thanks everyone. Now that I know it is the type of setup where you remove the bolts and the wheel comes of, or should anyway, I can start working on getting it off tonight.
