Question about 3010

I will be going to an auction soon and there is 3010 diesel wide front there that doesn't run, but doesn't look to bad. It has decent sheet metal and tires and doesn't look like it has been beat up. I have never owned a new generation tractor , just the 2 cylinders. My question is , what is the worst case problem that would I could run into with something like this tractor that would cost me a lot of money to fix once I get into it.? What would be a good price to bid on something like this, or should I just stay clear?

That pic sure looks like a GAS engine missing the carb. to me ! If the rear tire on the other side matches the one we can see then that is the most valuable part of that thing. I sure would not pay very much. So WHERE is that decent sheet metal you mentioned ? I just don't see it ? Don't forget the aftermarket wide front end that is goofed up and braces welded on. That isn't worth much either. I'd figure .12 cents a pound so $500 to $600 should be plenty.

I didn't notice the front end, I think I will stay clear of this and just concentrate on the two cylinders.

Since your going to be there anyhow ? I'd jump in on any bids in the scrap price range ! You can put those tires and rims on a 2 cyl. like a model 720 and those fenders will work on a 2 cyl. with new brackets.
