the wiring ran. As in hidden.

John Deere Electrical Systems Service Manual SM-2029 will have at least some of what you need.

Wiring goes up the rt side of the fuel tank. I think there are some clips to hold it.

yep... there is another clip on the forward mount for the fan shaft which is supposed to hold the generator wires off the exhaust pipe. Don't ask how I know

Where is the starter switch bat????

The starter switch is on the starter. 3 wires go to it one is the heavy cable to the battery another wire runs up to the ammeter from the large stud. The small terminal on the side of the switch is the ignition resistor bypass for quick starting.

That's exciting when those wires get against the exhaust. It's the first time I'd ever seen an ammeter point to the 9 o'clock position.
