720 Power steering vane seals

Rebuilding power steering on a 720 and wondering whats the easiest way to install the vane seals? I have seen some people soaking them in hot water and soap but was wondering how hot for how long without hurting the integrity of the seal? Thanks in advance for any help.
 
I like to warm them in warm hydraulic oil, as hot as you can stand,they are then kind of slick to put on, however have not torn one recently, good luck
 
I do not soak mine, I take the vane and seal to my utility sink and use my bare hands and a small screw driver to work the seal on while running hot water. How hot? " as hot as
you can stand". My hot water is heated by my OWB so is probably hotter than usual. Have had success with several units using this method.
 
Yes not having very good luck I got one on and tore the other had to order more at $12 a piece he said they way they are supposed to work is pull both corners over at one time dont try to do just one so
will make up a thin piece of metal just the size of the short inside dimension and try to stretch both corners over at once. Did soak with oil and kept blow dryer on them for heat but no go what a pita.
