Can someone give the pros and cons of a 2510 diesel, from what I read it's a 2020 engine with a 3020 drive train, is it the same as a 2520 just older, just looking for any info, thanks again.

Very nice machines if you find one that has not been worked to death. Older version of the 2520 , but the 2520 is a side console controls. I like those engines a lot better than the 3020 engines. They just seem to run smoother ? Plus a lot more engine replacement options if you blow one up. I'd buy one sooner than a 3010 or 3020 ,unless you need more power then just jump up to a 4020.

Major cons is that 2510 Diesel is much harder to find than the gas version. That behind said, you can always convert it easily to a Diesel, much easier than converting 3010-20 to Diesel.

It uses many components in common with the 3020. Wheels from 3010 with less lugs. Hydraulic pump is smaller but that can be changed;
Clutch housing is specific to the 2510-2520. It has the 300 series bolt pattern, so it would not be possible to repower a 2510 with a 3020 or 4020 motor.

Dad bought a 1966 gas 2510 brand new. Uncle bought a new one the next year. Great tractors. Depending on what you want to do with one, they're under powered for the size of the tractor. The early 4 piston hyd. pumps were junk.

I have a 2520 and I think the power/weight balance is much better, and this tractor has no ballast. I switched this one from a gas to a diesel, and as mentioned, it's pretty straight forward. Lots of those engines, and different sizes of them out there.

I bought a diesel 2510 off ebay a couple years ago. Put in a rebuilt engine, different hyd pump, few other things. Now I love it. It pulls a 12 ft mo-co and a round baler no problem. Only complaint is its a little slower road gear than 4020.
