What would the value be of this 1940's (possibly 1946) LA John Deere? Dad used it gardening for 50+ years. This photo was from approx 20 years ago, while still being used. Probably not started in the last 12-15 years, but has been stored in barn all that time. Possibly cultivator and plow available too. Any collectors out there?

Value of those are down like most of the 2 cyl. I have been seeing running examples listed for $3,000 and then marked down to $ 2,500 in the last ad so I doubt it sold yet.
Get it up and running and try to see if you can get $ 2,000 for it ? as is not running you may only get $ 1,000 ?

Right at the tail end of the good ole days of prices ! LOL. I saw a model L like that with cultivators sell at local auction bring $ 5,000 !!! That might of been around 2009 ? as I think I had just been laid off and that's how I had free time to attend the sale.

What many don't realize is that even though the tractor may be stored inside, condensation still collects in the crank and rear and can cause damage. When the tractor is not in running order, this causes a big uncertainty and has a effect on price.

There are many things that determine the value. On an LA the serial tag is one of these. Also location.
