4010 hyd squeal

My 4010 has a bad hyd squeal from one of the hyd controls. One of the levers does not move free like it should. Any one rebuild these or should I go to the salvage yard.

Those Dash controlled SCV's are much different than the ones mounted on the rear, you would be best off to try a salvage yard..I rebuild the rear mounts with good success,, the one you have does not rebuild so well...

They are rebuildable..they just ain't fun to rebuild...

They also seem to have a tendency to have a bad housing that won't rebuild more frequently than the newer style scv valve housings.

I have added an extra control valve on my 4020 that I got from a salvage yard that I ended up taking it to deere and having it rebuilt so I am afraid of getting a bad one from the salvage yard. Is the john deere servicegard valve reseating tool kit #d15002nu the righttools to do it my self?

I use valve grind lapping compound with excellent results on remote and steering valves. The truing stone Deere recommends is too harsh and doesn't hold it's shape well.

IMHO JD engineers went out of their way to make these hyd valves too complicated. If I owned one of these tractors that I used regularly to farm with rather than rebuild OEM valve I'd substitute a spool valve in lieu of factory scv. I'd attach the spool valve similar to attaching FEL control valve.
