1020 starts then dies

I have a 1020 I just bought, it wasn't running when I bought it, but it started easily after charging the battery and everything seemed fine. Today I ran it about 10 minutes to get it warm, then it started to slowly lose speed and die out. It will restart immediately, then run about 20 seconds and die. I repeated this process a few times and same result. I took the return line off where the check valve is and everything looked clean. Blew are through the valve and it works ok. Not sure what to do now, anyone have any ideas?

Just to add: I did take off the timing window and got clean fuel, no sign of the flex ring braeking down.

The return fitting on the injector pump is clogged up remove it and clean it,,we have discussed this many times, if you know how to check the achieves you will find a lot about it,,if not I will be glad to explain it again..

Just tried it with the cover off, well, not completely off, but loose and it did keep running. As I tightened up the cover it slowly died. So, I guess that means the return line is blocked somewhere.

The fitting in question is the first one coming out of the pump, it has a little clear check ball in it,,you can file the end of the fitting a bit and remove the ball, spring and little washer,,and delete them, reinstall the fitting and it will be good for a while but plan on having the pump rebuilt in the near future..
