350 mower drive head

A friend has a 350 mower and the shaft in the drive head is bent which breaks the cutterbar. Boy, are they
pricey. Does anyone know where we might get the complete drive head? TIA

Reference some part number so we can see what is bent. go to JDparts.com and enter model number.

Really doubt a bent shaft is breaking "cutterbar". Maybe the sickle or knife is breaking or is it the knife head. Cutterbar is the heavy 7' or 9' bar the guards are bolted onto.

There is a needle bearing under the wobble arm on those mowers. If you don't know about the grease fitting for it you probably won't find it. When that bearing goes drive heads break.

Take a look at the [b:654c4848f0]Drive Head[/b:654c4848f0] diagram below.

Take a look at the photo below of the location of the grease fitting for the ball bushing with needle bearing and seal.

Shaft #11 is bent as the flywheel wobbles and yoke #37 can be moved forward and backward. When the mower runs the cutterbar goes back and forth as well as forward and backward so more than one thing is wrong.

Typically, pin #31 gets loose in casting # 16, or the casting breaks when the pin gets clamped in place by bolt #23.

If you actually need the shaft #11, I have several good ones in wobbleboxes that have failed in the manner I previously stated.

Pure speculation on my part, but sounds like several of the bearings need to be replaced.

You might consider removing the shaft and inspecting all the bearings.
