Combine fan for tractor

This is a complicated question. Tim S might have some ideas, but he recommended to me something from Carquest, nothing Deere.

Most combine fans are much bigger than tractor fans, because they usually have big radiators, and aren't bolted to the water pump. Some also go the wrong direction.

Is this going on something with the stock engine and a turbo, or something like a 466 transplant??

Coonie is correct,,the best fan for more flow is an M&W fan and shroud. If you are having an over heating issue a new radiator with an extra row of cores is the way to go,you will benefit from the fresh clean radiator plus the extra core.

We put one with extra blade off different model, works much better, think it was 2640, Tim S told me which one.

Coonie it is actually to answer question I was asked. I sold the M&W fans and shrouds I had and people are asking if something different from JD can be used as they seem to be hard to find. Thanks

From Partsbooks, the 4020 fan 5 blades is also used on 4230 with no AC.

4230 with AC got the AR64075 6 blades fan that is used on a bunch of tractors: All 40,50,55 series Mahnneim 6 cylinders (2940, etc...) and 4230 with AC, 4040, etc...

I replied too fast, the biggest flow that you can get will be with the RE26918 that was made for the 6 cylinders mannheim turbo. (21.5" instead of 21", and better blades)
Problem is that their hub is made for a viscous coupling, and I am not sure that it would fit a 4020. But that would be cool if it would, particularly to help on fuel at high RPM and no load, and winter warm ups.

The fan from a 2940 will increase the airflow considerably, it will move more air than the old M&W. The M&W fans were 19" 7 blade but are shallow blades. the 2940 is 21" 6 blade, with deep blades.
