3020 Power Shift

I don't have much experience with NG tractors, but tomorrow I'm going to an auction where a 3020 PS is being sold. It has not run in a number of years and won't be started. I will need to tow it a short distance (if I buy it) to load it. What would be the proper procedure for moving this tractor a 100 yards or so with out starting it?

Thanks,

Mark

There is a tow disconnect lever down by your left foot as sitting in the seat IIRC. I forget which way is in or out though. I would think in the forward most position would be the tow spot and back more out of the way would be normal driving spot.
I sure hope it was put into tow position if they had to move it around to line it up for the sale ! Otherwise I think it can really trash things in there.
Power shifts are nice to be able to shift down under full power and full load but they do rob some extra power from the engine especially in cold weather will really dog down a 3020 engine.

Also should add I think it is best to make sure the hyd/trans. oil is up to the top level also. If the load seals leaked it all out then there might be some gears that don't get lubed as it is towed ?

(quoted from post at 11:03:55 09/15/17) The letters T, O, and W are stamped in the area of the tow lever....

In Tow position, the entire planetary powershift stuff is disconnect. Only the bevel set is running+ the intermediary shaft and the top the pinion on the top shaft where the disconnect is. For 100 yards slow, it should work. Much less things to mess up than a Syncro in TOW.
If they have a big tractor at the sale, it is easy enough to lift the back of the tractor with the 3 points.
