Thanks to Hotflashjr and newgenidcollector for your responses to this topic below. I wanted to share some pictures.
Putting the new arm rest cushions went well. I just removed the front metal arm connection at the seat base. From there I was able to easily put the cushion on. I did not use any glue, the cushion seemed to fold over the hard plastic base nicely. The old ones only had a small spot of glue on them.
The seat base and back were re-upholstered locally. The second picture shows the plastic base under the cushion.
