4055 vs 4250 turn signal parts

I have a 4250 myself along with all the technical manuals. It calls out a
AR64422 turn signal controller, about $60.

I am working on a 4055, flashers work but turn signal does not. The parts book calls out a RE53109 which is a simple rotary switch with a connector with it, $128. I will replace this part tomorrow.

I do not have the 55 series technical manual. I am guessing this flasher/switch circuit changed from the 50 to the 55 series. The 50 series looks like one module that contains both the flasher and switch. The 55 series seems to have gone to separate flasher and turn signal switch components although I am not seeing a separate parts call out for a flasher on the 55 series.

Can someone tell me where the flasher is on the 55 series or give me any information on the differences on this circuit between the 50 and 55 series?

Thanks.

It appears there's a serial number break that's difficult to understand as each part # subs to other part # & neither of the part # listed will load into JD shopping cart.

Most 55 series I've worked on have the turn signal flasher functions built into the left performance module.. the fuse/relay panel on the left side of the dash can have issues. Just have a left/right switch on the dash. Usually nothing wrong with the switch itself...could be the flasher relay or a bad circuit board....or all the connections on the back of the circuit board...or a bad performance module

The turn signal switch on the older tractors have the flasher built into the big square switch itself.

Thanks Ragnarok. Yes, I snapped the dash panels off and removed the screws mounting the Performance modules. I had to replace the right hand turn signal indicator light.

I am embarrassed to say I replaced the turn signal switch only to figure out later the key switch had to be "On" to get the turn signals to work. The key switch does not need to be "On" to turn "On" the Warning Lights with the light switch so it did not dawn on me I needed the key switch "On" to get the turn signals to work.

The Warning light are now LED. I will make a separate post on the results of that.

Thanks again for responding. Your comments were very helpful, spot-on.
