A couple of questions regarding my JD4240

Explain to me the casting numbers on my block.
Behind the starter there are four separate set of casting numbers. See the pic below.
The R63198 is for a 4440 and the R64530 is for a 4240. I have not researched the other two numbers. The difference is that the R64530 has an “X” after it and the other appeared to of been ground off. When they cast these blocks are they all the same and then they just grind the “X” off to identify which application the block was used in? In this case a 466DA????

Also, in the process of rebuilding the engine. I have had a turbo from a 4440 on it for the better part of 10 – 15 years. Is there any benefit to install injectors from a 4440?

I'm not sure but it sure looks like they are both the same r64530 ? The one with the X left at the end I would think is for marking the one it was to be.

There is usually a chisel mark in front of the number meant to be used, and there will be very little note able
difference with the 4440 injjectors
