Model 5400 Battery cable

I need help installing a new positive battery cable. I have new Deere cable. The old cable goes down thru a hole behind the battery. I can't
see where it goes. I was hoping for some pictures showing route of cable and how to go about changing out the cables. Where can I find
pictures? Thanks.

Can't you just follow the routing of the original cables?

maybe you could tap the new one to the old one before you take it out and pull the new onw threw.

You might try looking at the exploded view in the JD parts diagram for the tractor. It's not exactly a picture, but it will probably give you enough clues.

Tie a string to the old cable and pull your old cable out. Untie the string from the old cable and tie it to the proper end of the new one. Now use the string to pull the new cable into place
