2010 Wheeler - 93 Backhoe Extend-a-hoe

I cannot find any information or schematics or parts for a 1964-JD Diesel - 93 Backhoe but also Extendahoe. I need to replace the hydraulic hoses within (internally) the extended dipper stick. Most JD parts dealers scratch their heads and say what? Is there anyone who knows the 93 backhoe attachment history who can steer me on how the hoses are laid out inside and how to replace them?

Google " JD Parts " enter " 93 " in the search box, should bring you to list of parts manuals. Book 864 is the 93 Hoe. Look in the sectional index, sect.65, sub sect 16 oil pump & oil line . It gives spec's for each hose / JD part #s.

(quoted from post at 09:46:50 09/05/17) Thanks Jo Bird! I'll give it a try.

Sorry Jo Bird....You instructions were great, but there is nothing there about an extend-a-hoe for a 93 backhoe serial # 352, just the standard hoe. I'm not sure where to go from here, but appreciate your response. Thanks

There is a fixed dipperstick extension listed in the parts, is that what you have? I've never seen or heard of such a thing on the 93's. It is less than helpful because it does not mention anything about lines. Search the parts book alphabetically to find it.

Thanks Mike...yes I found the fixed extension and had hoped that was it, but alas not. This is a bonafide extendahoe having an inside dipper and the outside dipper. I use a hydraulic foot pedal valve to extend and retrieve it and the dipper cylinder or connections inside are blown. I'm looking to find an illustration or schematic to see how it breaks down. Thanks for your response.

Are you sure that it is a 93? The 310's have a extendahoe. You can check them out by searching for the 310, book 1226, 310 backhoe, sectional index 80 backhoe, sub sec. 34B/36 to see if the extendahoe diagrams resemble what you have.

That is odd, but Jo is right the 310's did come with an extendahoe as an option, we have one here.

I would have to look at our 310 and the 93 we have laying around, but is it possible someone put a different dipperstick on your 93? Also, does yours have a swing motor or two swing cylinders?

I have a feeling you have a hoe that someone retro fitted the extendable stick from a newer JD 310 on to your JD 2010. It could have been a factory kit but I have never heard of one. Look at the pictures I have attached an see if they look like yours.

first picture: EXTENDIBLE DIPPERSTICK HYDRAULICS-CONTINUED

Second picture: BACKHOE EXTENDIBLE DIPPERSTICK EXTENSION (internal half)

Third picture: BACKHOE EXTENDIBLE DIPPERSTICK HOUSING (External half)

The titles are exactly form the JD 310 parts book. So you can find them.

I believe you are right both Mike JM and JD Seller. When I got the illustrations (the same as you provided) I compared them to my Deere, the mechanics are similar, but some of the appearance is off. I double checked the tag on the hoe (Model 93 Serial #352). Your thoughts and comments are appreciated. I believe it the cylinder inside the extended dipper is what is blown. My worry is how can I match a cylinder kit to it for repair. Are there any stamped markings on these cylinders that JD would be able to respond to. In other words, if I get into ordering a 310 kit, will they match? Kindly thanks for your time and effort.

That's really tough to say whether it will match or not, we're only guessing. Your best bet would be to pull the cylinder and see if you can find a part number on the tube somewhere and match that up to the parts book, you can search by part numbers as well.

You could always find a reputable hydraulic shop they should be able to source a seal kit if you don't have any luck through deere.

Thanks one and all.....I'll be setting the boom and dipper and starting to pull the cylinder. I've got pictures but have been unsuccessful in uploading them here. I'll keep trying. Again thanks.....this is much appreciated!

FYI, their is another style of Dipper Stick. Check book 2755 310G/SG and 315SG listed under the 310 search. Section index sub 33 backhoe/ecx. 3346 Dipper stick 540 Extendable Arm & Locking Pin..
