Model 44 JD plow question

For those that have restored a #44 I am really confused from the parts manual on the tire size/sizes to use.? Looks to me that the land side tire is smaller than the furrow tire.? 4.00-16 for lands and 5.50 16 for the furrow. Kinda makes sense to me because of the low vs high but I want to be sure.

Thanks

Sam

What do you mean by "low versus high" ? According to the parts book, both land and furrow wheel tires are the same size, 5:50-16. I have 6:00-16 on both of mine and it works good. The 4:00-16 in the parts book is for the rim, not the tire.

Also, if your plow is a clutch lift it probably had a traction type tire on the land (clutch) side. Mine originally did. It just has a car tire on it now which works OK. Miller Tire has the other type if you want to pay for it!
