1010 Bearing plastiguage tips

Planning on testing my bearing clearances with plastiguage. I have semi-low oil pressure (20 psi when hot, 60 when cool) and want to figure out if it's a pump issue (I have no shims in the spring in the pump piston, and it may have the wrong spring e.e). There is no knock of any kind in the motor. Just looking for any tips when using plasti guage. I'm not planning on removing the block. Is that possible? I'd think you could check the conrod clearance ok with the engine on, but can you check the mains clearance with the engine still in the tractor?

Any tips on this appreciated

It is fairly easy to check the mains with Plastigauge. For best accuracy, support the crank with a little upwards pressure
from a bottle-jack or equiv. Deere used to sell slightly undersized bearings for the 1010 engine to make up for minor wear.
Nice to have if needed and does not require pulling the engine or removing the crank. Were available in standard, .002"and
.003". We fixed many an engine with hot low oil-pressure with those bearings. If any are available anymore, I do not know.
I put new .002" mains in my 1010 around 15 years ago and had to do an old-stock dealer search to find them.

Early 1010 (before serial 31000) for 002" under bearings takes AT24424 and AT24412. If 31,000 or higher - the .002" mains
are AT24430 and AT24413.
