'g' spark plug wire location ?

Put new plug wires on my 53 G. Sitting on tractor, I connected the left hand plug to the top connection on the mag cap. Connected right hand plug to bottom hole on mag cap. Are those the correct connections ? Thanks, Dick

Are you sure it is a mag, and not a Delco distributor? They are opposite one another.

If it doesn't start or backfires they are wrong. Not to hard to figure out.

Yes.

Take a look at the [b:654c4848f0]DISTRIBUTOR (DELCO-REMY)[/b:654c4848f0] diagram below.

The Delco-Remy distributor for your 53 Model G is the same as the Delco-Remy distributor on our early 53 Model 70 (7000014).

Take a look at the photo below of the spark plug wires on "15" our 53 Model 70.
