720 water pump

I have a 720 gas. When running, I gets stream of coolant out the bottom of the water pump
Apparently, a weep hole Nothing when engine off. Assume a seal.
How hard is it to fix/replace seal?

It's been several years since I did one of those, at that time all parts were still available from DEERE.

Expect to replace the $$$ impeller, as that's part of the sealing shystem.

And be careful when pressing it apart not to demolish the casting.

Make sure you get a new bearing, seal, and impeller. The impeller is gonna hurt. They are available for $115.00. But you really need it as they don't use a ceramic insert against the seal face. The other odd thing is Deere's description is "shim, impeller." So don't get confused when you order it. You'll need a decent press to get the pieces apart. Or, you can just buy a complete rebuild on this site for about the cost of the separate parts. Then it's just a parts swap. Easy peasy. Drain the coolant, remove the lower hose, unbolt the water pump from the radiator, then slide the pump off of the bypass tube. I took the oil bath bowl off to get a little more room. Let it drip for a day or two before you begin.

They are ornery to rebuild,,If you have never done one,,I would suggest to by a complete one,,don't go to Deere for parts, they are out of reason..

Reman from Hy-capacity lists for $86.67. You can't but the parts to rebuild for that. Their website shows dealers near you.
