JD 4455 with 6076 engine. I went through my valves again and set my intakes to .018 and exhausts to .028. Now its starting to run ruff around the 2100 rpm and above. It starts to act up after the engine has been running a few minutes. Pretty certain all my injectors are firing. When running 2100 and above the engine starts to vary 20-30 rpms up and down. New head gasket, head bolts, head surfaced and checked, all other gaskets, new fuel filters, fuel line packings and fuel primer. Not sure what I need to do next.

Check your fuel flow from the tank,,it may be restricted and letting it starve for fuel a bit.

I read your previous posting. When you removed the head and all the related parts, you took the injector lines off as an assemble right? Loosening the injector lines from the pump, you might have also loosen the delivery valve on the injection pump. There are clamped together in pairs, depending on serial number. There is a sealing washer under the delivery valve that leaks high pressure fuel internally. I did it once to a warrantied tractor years ago when i was a JD tech. I have had a poor valve job done by a reputable machine shop have same results too. Hope this helps

Did you change the little fuel strainer filter?

Did you have the injection pump of..perhaps got it slightly out of time?

I thought the valve lash on the newer 7.6L engines was .015" intake and exhaust...have to look in the book

I did replace the fuel strainer. I did not have the pump off, with the flywheel pined at TDC number 1 the pump time marks are perfect. My IT
manual says .015 intake and .020 exhaust. Tim S mentioned he sets his to .018 intake and .028 exhaust, so I reset mine to that spec. I
originally set mine to what the IT manual said but it was running ruff 1800rpm and above. Now its 2100 and above.
