2510 carb/fuel issue

After replacing my sleeves, and replacing all of the old nasty gas in the tank, my 2510 would not run for more than a few seconds. I found that the fuel pump was not pumping. Replaced it and got good flow. It started but wasn't running quite right. I ordered a carb kit and soaked all of the carb parts in cleaner and shot carb cleaner through all openings. Put the carb on and it ran awesome, for a few hours. It started running really rich and would barley run. Too off the carb and there was rust built up between the float and fuel bowl preventing the float from working. Cleaaned again and it ran good for a bit then I didn't use it for a few weeks. Went to start it and it will only stayrunning while the choke is full on. Any thoughts? It has a new fuel filter too.

I went through a similar problem on a 2510. I also replaced the fuel pump, the new one from Deere doesn't incorporate the sediment bowl the
original did. I ended up removing the fuel tank, cleaned 99% of the junk/rust/dirt out of it. It would still plug the screen on the carb
inlet elbow in 5-10 minutes. I finally installed an inline filter before the fuel pump. I still have to clean that filter every 10 hours or
so, but it's getting better as I hopefully am getting the last of the crap out of the tank.

If you have on-the-farm tanks I suggest you both put a filter on them and see if you can clean the bottom for debris.

A friend bought a 4055 at an auction. A good intentioned man drained the last of the fuel from the on-the-farm tank and put it in the 4055.. That tractor didn't run long as all the fuel filters plugged. He put all new filters on but also asked me to clean the tank. I got a half to full cup of water plus lots of debris.

I've recleaned the carb and its still running really lean. There is great fuel to the carb. I cannot get it to run rich by the needle valve. Any thoughts?
