I bought a 5010 at a estate sale and the hydraulic oil is tan in color. It had been sitting outside. When I got to the sale site the day before they were pulling it to try and get it started so the watered oil is throughout the system. I drained it and now-what is the best way to flush the system without taking everything apart? The local Farm Fleet has the yellow pail 303 on sale for $20 for 5 gal, can I dump 10 gal in and run it to circulate it and the drain it and repeat or will I just be throwing my $$ away. Suggestions please---Tee

Thanks Jim, I had to look it up what IMHO means. I am out in the sticks and am not too lingo savvy. This ol 5010 was bought for ???? so it won't get many hours on it. Maybe drive it around for a hour and drop the oil? IMHO---IS MY HEARINGAID ON---Tee

It takes heat to dissipate moisture so an hour of run time isn't going to help much. You might drive it around that hour and let it sit overnight. In the morning loosen the drain plug just enough for the water to weep out and start all over again.

I thought the newer oils hold the water in suspension that is why they get milky??---Tee
